What is maturity? What does it mean to be mature? How does one become mature?

Subject:Advice for the laptop challenged friends I have
Time:08:32 pm
Current Mood:blankblank
Alright... Ive been seeing that a lot of my friends have been having laptop problems... mainly their dvd/cd-roms dont work... in almost every instance that is a problem with either the driver... or their system board is beginning to fail... because if it had already failed... your laptop wouldnt work. Rather than going to room 500... which is filled with retarded flamers who have no clue... you can send your laptop to IBM directly... which is filled with just flamers that actually know how to fix things... Ive already dont this process and my laptop works great...well... as great as something manufactured by IBM can... the tech support number is completely toll free... and it only takes a few days to get your laptop fixed... even people who have no clue about laptops can do this... the person on the phone will ask for some info about your laptop... which can be accessed by clicking your 'Access IBM' button, click on the 'Get Help & Support' button... and then click on the 'System Information' link on the bottom... the only thing that it doesnt tell you is that we have an R40 Thinkpad... When the person asks what the problem is... just tell them whats wrong with your laptop... for most of you it will be...

"My DVD/CD Combo drive isnt working."
^^if its not even recognized and isnt under My Computer then you should tell them that too

He will then ask if youve downloaded and installed the latest drivers... just say yes... that isnt going to fix your problem...

Most likely its a system board problem... so you should mention something like "Its possible that my system board might be malfunctioning."
If your USB ports arent working... and your dvd drive isnt working... its a guareteed system board problem

So... then the person will say something about how they are going to ship your laptop to a repair depot... and they will ask if you want your harddrive reimaged... depending on if you want the stuff the school put on there... and if you can find your microsoft office cds... you might not want this... but if you have your cds and you dont use any of the school stuff... then it would be a good thing to get it reimaged... if you want to be able to print in the library... or use inspiration** or something... DO NOT reimage... you can still get on the server by mapping a network drive... \\lhs01\academic10$ (NOTE!!! THIS DOESNT WORK FOR EVERYONE... THE NETWORK DRIVE... this is like my disclaimer or something... haha... you do this process at your own risk... but hey... your laptop couldnt get any worse could it???)

Make sure you back up your files anyways... either way... you never know when something might go wrong

Anyways... a box will be shipped to you the next day... depending on if it was a business day or not... then you just have to fill in a little bit of paper work about whats wrong with your computer and what the password for windows is and crap... then you seal it up and call the number provided... and DHL will pick it up... its a really simple process... and absolutely free...

You will get your laptop back usually within 5 business days (Mon-Fri)... I got mine back in 3 business days (sent it on Mon... got it back Wed)
Thats what I call speedy... granted you wont have your laptop and 500 wont give you a loaner... so just deal with the heart break... or for many... thy just dont care as long as their dvds play... haha

So... thats it... this is the number to call

IBM Tech Support (open 24/7) = 1-800-426-7378

I hope this helps you people that read this get their laptops fixed without the long... destructive... retarded process of going to 500... Oh... also... I reimage laptops... and give you a couple programs for free... so if you just have random laptop troubles... then Ill try to help... I can fix a couple problems with out the need of reimaging...so... thats the party... hope I helped... oh and I can help back up your files... we get together and transfer your documents with a crossover cable... and store them on my computer... or burn a cd or two for you...

(please note this process can be used for any problem you might have with your laptop... not just DVD drive problems)

(EDIT: I now have a copy of inspiration... so dont sweat not having that)
